Tasting Notes

Throwing Star

45% Costa Rican, Colombian, Ethiopian,

nearly half of this coffee is what is known as black honey process coffee, where by the mucilage is allowed to remain on the beans until it flakes off, acting as a sunscreen during the drying process it protects the green beans from drying out. The result is a seriously deep cup character, a super oily mouthfeel and an aftertaste that screams for a 2nd cup, the baseline is from two of the biggest contenders for the mega cup, Ethiopian and Columbian, just a little white pepper from the Guatemalan and you have cup bliss.

 Hachimaki

this is a powerhouse blend, it contains a couple of our favourite origins and just happens to have our darkest roast profile beans. This brings out the bold and bright flavour notes like boiled sweets and blackcurrant, the dark roasted Brazillian brings a little bakers chocolate and a slightly nutty finish to the palate, the small percentages are filled with the twang of pepper berry from the Honduran and rounded nicely with the deep tones of the low acid caramel notes of a beautiful farm gate brokered Columbian, treat yourself to a double shot and march on through your busy day.
